About rTMS International

rTMS International was formed on the back of our many years of expertise with rTMS and its successful outcomes, as well as our desire to make rTMS accessible to as many people as possible.

Depression or obsessive-compulsive disorder is the result of a chemical imbalance in the brain. As a result, several areas of the brain no longer communicate as effectively as they used to. We use rTMS to alter how these neural regions interact, resulting in sometimes significant improvements. rTMS uses magnetic pulses to stimulate nerve cells in the prefrontal cortex, which is located behind the forehead. This part of the brain is responsible for feelings of sadness and mood management.

rTMS is effective in the treatment of both depression and obsessive-compulsive disorders, with more than 70% of clients with depression and 60% of those with obsessive-compulsive problems responding favourably. In depression, symptoms typically decreased by 75%. In terms of compulsive behaviours, rates improved by 20 percentage points overall. Treatment with rTMS has few side effects. After therapy, some patients develop a mild headache that will go away on its own.
